Nzoner's Game Room>RIP Dwayne Haskins
The Franchise 09:00 AM 04-09-2022

Dwayne Haskins, a standout at Ohio State before struggling to catch on with Washington and Pittsburgh in the NFL, died this morning when he got hit by a car in South Florida, per his agent Cedric Saunders. Haskins would have turned 25 years old on May 3.

He didn't, no.

But he's an NFL writer and he's going to put something like this in an NFL context.

And yeah, easily the most notable thing about Haskin's NFL career was that it just wasn't very good. And the hagiographies ring a little hollow as very few people had anything kind to say about this guy when he was a 3rd stringer and inactive because of a poor work ethic.

I mean...it is what it is.

I actually took more umbrage with his poor phrasing. Haskins didn't struggle to make the Redskins or the Steelers.

He struggled when on the rosters. Not in the signing portion.

I am surprised that he even rates high enough to get a RIP thread.

Hagiographies? I can't be the only one that had to look that one up. You some kind of Faulkner fan or something? You like those books do you?

hagiography (ˌhæɡɪˈɒɡrəfɪ)
n, pl -phies
1. (Theology) the writing of the lives of the saints
2. (Theology) biography of the saints
3. (Literary & Literary Critical Terms) any biography that idealizes or idolizes its subject

What was Faulkner's 40 yard time though? Was he a hurdler?

Did any of the news reports say why he was walking across a highway at 6am? Seems like an unusual thing to be doing.
