Would have been great for the 49ers to not fuck up this week.
Nah, I’d rather keep the machine rolling. We’re on a mission, and giving the Dungkeys a cheap win to end the streak just wouldn’t be right. Blowmo beating his chest for the next 6 months over a meaningless win in week 18. They deserve 13 straight. We’ll get a rest the following week. [Reply]

Agreed. Don't want to see Denver get a cheap win to end the streak nor give the starters too much time off. [Reply]
They’ll clearly rest Mahomes if they win next week and the Titans lose, just as they did last year. It’s not even a question. Andy is not risking any kind of injury with him a week before the playoffs. [Reply]

Fuck that.
They need to play, stay in rhythm. Bye week sure, get some rest, but 2 weeks not playing football and having to get up for a playoff team that has been playing the entire time is bad business.
We saw what happened to that Ravens team that Harbaugh gave 2 weeks off to. They came out playing like bags of smashed assholes and stunk up their own stadium.
They looked nothing like the team they were before the rest.
Rest injured players, but healthy starters play. [Reply]

We saw what it did for the Chiefs last year too in getting Henne some much needed reps. Comparing John Harbaugh to Andy Reid is your first mistake. Andy will have these guys ready for the playoffs regardless. The extra rest is always welcome. [Reply]

I’m not even sure why anyone is debating this. We know he would rest them in this scenario. He did it last year and it had no ill effects. [Reply]

Football players dont forget to play football. The more rest the better. [Reply]

This.
The team was humming at the beginning of that Browns playoff game before Mahomes got injured. Zero reason to think Reid will or should do anything different if we have the opportunity. [Reply]

Correct. The rust excuse is lame.
This team is seasoned. Being healthy and fresh helps us more than anything.
The streak against the Donks is meaningless. Being ready for the playoffs is far more important.
We’ve had late injuries each of the last two years (Thornhill and Fisher). Before that, didn’t we lose DJ right before the Steelers playoff game?
Zero reason to risk it unless the 1 seed is on the line. [Reply]
