We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

That hasn’t been discussed yet, but playing b-ball in empty stadiums sure has.

Terrible idea. Just cancel the damn tournament if they're not gonna have fans.

Yeah the coronavirus will have no impact on economy whatsoever! I guess that explains why DOW Jones isn't seeing much if an impact so far.

Oh wait....

Acceptable risk to you? This doesn't even include old people who are dropping like flies from 8% to 18%. But real young adults.

This is as contagious as the common cold. If it remains unchecked and affects 20-40% of the 330 million Americans, you can see who this is a problem.

In the year in which KU has it’s best chance to win the tournament in a while...

If they are concerned for health that shouldn't matter

I think this is mostly right and the markets are overreacting. Disease outbreaks have never caused a recession. People drastically overestimate the size of entertainment type services to the total economy and the money saved on those things can be put into other purchases later this year.

The concern would be if the economy was already weak and the virus is what pops the bubble, that could be if there are large pockets of debt and risk on the books such that even a small demand shock can cause businesses to go under.

I'm just talking about spending related to conferences and big gatherings. Disposable income usually finds a path out of the household. But yeah, if people aren't working and making money to get disposable income, that becomes a big issue, obviously.

I would watch it, and would estimate millions of others would. An empty stadium wouldn't make it a scrimmage.

I would imagine the teams and cable companies would want the games to happen too

It would be hilarious to hear the players yelling all types of swear words cause the mics would pick up everything.
