Most of the big box retailers still do that....they want to become the largest customer so they can demand price concessions or to figure out how to make the same item cheaper and drive the company to more concessions or out of business. [Reply]

Sounds yummy! We have made them a couple times with flounder and salmon, healthy and tasty! [Reply]

Me and a manager that worked under me used to make them at Taco Bell in the early 90's. At some point Taco Bell released them as double decker tacos, then discontinued them. Tasty, doesn't fall apart, more filling than a single normal taco. [Reply]

In HS I would get stoned and eat two of them and they would fill you right up even if you had the munchies. [Reply]

Taco Bell really fucked that up. The original item was perfect, but it was meant to be a limited time only special. They would bring it back, but only intermittently, so a stable supply of ingredients was never established and quality could not be maintained. You might remember the Chilito taking its place at one point. That was to mask the issue by pretending it was a different item. I think they finally gave up. [Reply]

The two chicken tacos I had at Habaneros the other day were the best I have ever eaten. I noticed they have four locations, but didn't make a note of their where. Their home made chips were incredible. [Reply]
