Yes, that's Jimmy (Joe's dad).

Jimmy retired recently after coaching D1 football for the past 45 years. Most recently, Jimmy was the DC for the Ohio Bobcats under Frank Solich.

Jimmy was originally from Mississippi but played at Nebraska under Bob Devany in the 70's. I think he played a little while in the CFL as well.

A side note, Joe's brother Jamie played football at Nebraska in the late 90's/early 2000's when Solich was there.

Jimmy coached HS briefly, after the Jim Walden staff was fired by ISU. He stayed in Ames and coached their team briefly, while his other two sons finished up high school.

Then he eventually moved to Ohio to join Frank Solich's staff at Ohio U, where he became the DC. That's the Ohio connection for why Joe originally chose Ohio State.

If you look at the date of birth of Joe in 1996 and then click the link to the Jimmy Burrow wikipedia page looks like dad was at the high school after leaving Iowa State.
