If he's really wanting to be here, and he got $8m last year (and missed most of this season to the shoulder injury) he'd be reasonably priced. He's 25.
It buys you time to draft and develop WR's.
It allows you to concentrate on the defensive re-shuffle in the rest of FA and the draft.
Take one of your thirds and draft like...Jerome Ford and call the offense good.
I feel like we lack a strong X receiver and have slot options in spades. We need someone who can routinely beat press coverage on the outside so we can get tyreek off the LOS and maximize his opportunities to create separation. Granted, tyreek is also terrific against press coverage, but I feel that if you are putting him in that spot you aren't maximizing his reps. [Reply]
We need another weapon that isn’t going to disappear for long stretches of time. Doesn’t matter if the dude is 5’10” and a Hill type WR or a 6’5” WR that can go get balls. Just someone that Mahomes can trust that gets open. [Reply]

#3 needs to be #1 by a long shot. It’s not close. Spags d sucks without a dominant d line. Chiefs score at the end of regulation if they can trust the d and aren’t trying to burn clock. Get a cheap wr like Sammy Watkins that already knows the playbook and has a relationship with mahomes. Draft a wr in the 1st bc that’s probably the best value for need. No DE, DT or safety there that merits the pick. Spend big bucks on chandler Jones. Draft a rb late. Hopefully a DT in the 2nd. [Reply]

I’m hoping Sammy is the 1% improvement that veach talked about in his presser. He knows the offense and can be an impact immediately. Many of the wrs that have been listed are stupid and will sign late and probably won’t grasp the offense for a while. He will be probably be super cheap at around $3m or so per year. He’s still young at less than 30. And the draft is looking like the value will be WR round 1, so we don’t need to spend a lot wr if we draft a wr in the 1st. The 1st round pick should be the long term answer and if that pick works, lookout in the playoffs! Can you imagine Sammy being our 4th option?! Kelce, Hill, draft pick and then Sammy.
