Nzoner's Game Room>***Official 2023 Royals Season Repository Thread***
ChiefsCountry 12:02 AM 01-01-2023

2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

Pratto would benefit greatly from the robotic strike zone ever becoming a thing, he has great zone judgement and gets jobbed by umps pretty frequently.

It is.

But assuming it normalizes around .300 on his BABIP, I'd expect a .240/.250 hitter who OBPs around .110-.120 better than his average.

Which plays nicely with the way he's driving the ball and making hard contact.

I was speaking more the the "Pratto is going getting ready to explode."

In somewhat-Royals-related-but-not-really prospect news...

How good a hitting prospect is Nationals OF prospect James Wood, the centerpiece of the Juan Soto trade?

He was just promoted to AA after posting a .293/.392/.580 line at (wait for it) High A Wilmington.

Yeah, the same High A Wilmington where a lot of Royals who were really good major league hitters struggled to hit for any power at all.

Wood is Aaron Judge-sized, but with more speed and base-running ability.

The only Royals player I can remember having as easy a time at Wilmington was Wil Myers, did outperform Wood.
