Nzoner's Game Room>2023 Free Agency
O.city 11:01 AM 03-01-2023
Figured we could get one of these going as well.

Who's some guys we like, would like to see in KC?

The thought in KC right now is Patrick Mahomes is expected to be throwing the same core group of guys he ended the season with.
- Kelce
- Toney (who the #chiefs believe will be WR1 in 2023)
- MVS
- The plan is to bring Ju Ju back
- Skyy Moore

Yep. Things about a Chiefs WR everyone will agree on:

Well-coached
Will be able to play from any position
Will be able to run the whole route tree
Will understand how to find the soft spot in zones
Will run-block

:-) Yeesh, the owners couldn't be more obvious about the fact they're colluding to kill the fully guaranteed contract precedent set by the Browns and Watson.

Why would pay a fully guaranteed contract to a glorified RB who can maybe throw to TEs? No owner is stupid enough to sign off on that.

They'd be really stupid not to try and kill it. But yeah, you'd think they'd be a little more subtle about it. :-)

Of course not. But Jesus Christ don't be so fucking obvious about it :-)

As they should, those contracts ruined baseball.

Can someone explain in plain English where the two first round picks that are "awarded" or "gained" to the team losing a player to a non-exclusive franchise tag come from?

Nowhere online does it say they come from the team that actually signs the player, although I think they do, right? Nor does it explain what happens if say the team that signed the player has already traded away their next two years of first round picks. Does the team that loses the player just have to wait?

Ok finally, like the 12th site I found at least clearly says the two draft picks come from the team that signs the player: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/n...-how-it-works/

Still doesn't explain what happens if that team doesn't have it's next two years of first round picks. Maybe it just can't sign the player?

Lamar Jackson update is crazy.....

Watch 49er's trade two firsts for Lamar and be a legit shoe in for SB

I think another part of this is not committing the same sin Denver did last year. They rolled out the red carpet and gladly let Seattle go in dry and realized Russ is scheme specific. Have to think the same thing would happen with Lamar.

Much smarter to go after a better stop gap like Derek Carr, Jamies Winston, Jimmy G, Baker Mayfield or Marcus Marriotta than put literally all of your chips on the table for Lamar

His style and brain power will never get you SB title. His ass is beat the hell up now and when he's in his early 30's it's over.
Yeah. Lamar is going to get more beat up as he ages. I'd definitely want a contract with an out window that opens up no more than 3 yrs. down the line. I think Jalen Hurts is a better passer than Lamar, but not quite as electric as a runner. Even 24 yo hurts had a shoulder issue late in the season. Keep getting hit as a primary runner, and that will only get worse.

49er's with Lamar would be stupid.... With Kyles run scheme... and CMC (Not to mention a amazing TE WR1/WR2 combo)

Having to pay top dollar for a QB would kill the ability for them to keep that roster together.
