Not only is this dumb, the NFL is so uncreative. Look at what soccer does. They schedule international friendlies all the time and their b team fills American stadiums. Why couldn't football be more creative with exhibition games instead of this nonsense, let alone the horseshit neutral site games in Europe.

I'm not talking about half-speed football. I'm talking about practice squad or camp bodies playing exhibition games in underserved NFL markets including international. A lot of these roster bodies will be lucky to find 5 minutes in a preseason game. You don't think they wouldn't kill for the opportunity to prove themselves?

Yeah. I agree. It'll never work. There is no way that I would want to sit Mahomes for 2 games and start a backup in his place. The article mentions that. They also bring up kickers. Teams would have to keep 2 punters and 2 field goal kickers. And then there's the issue of the offensive line. We have the best right tackle in the league. I really don't want to put Erving in for Schwartz for 2 games. He could probably hold down the spot okay, but there would be a huge drop off and it could get Mahomes hurt.

Injuries you can't help. Getting fucked on a game because Henne has to play instead of Mahomes would be strictly because of owner greed and not being willing to give the players what they want to run an 18 game regular season.
