My source, just posting hearsay. Nothing anyone should put stock into
KU has talked with several cardiologists and one (reportedly) said Self not coming back after a few days was worrisome. He said most ppl his age who have stents put in are back at work in 2-3 days.
Seemed odd to me. I said “They aren’t going to a cubicle to look at spreadsheets, not coach in front of 18k fans, in the tournament.” He said he / they think Self likely has some neurological issues. I said like tremors or cognitive. He said cognitive.
Cardio said he would be more surprised if he comes back than if he didn’t. He’s got $50M in the bank, his wife will make him quit.
I said he’s like 12 wins from passing Phog Allen for most wins at Kansas, and he’s not the best coach in the game for not being competitive.
He just said, “no reason to do it with that money and the risk he could be exposed.”
I said money doesn’t mean shit at this point to Self. Response? “Why isn’t he at the final four the ?”

Dickinson might be harder to convince because they’re already crowded at the 5. He may not be able to get as many minutes as he wants.
I’ll be surprised if they don’t land a couple of the top wings/guards though.
Dickinson is one of the best players in NCAA. I don't think that will be an issue. [Reply]

But they have three other talented 5s who can’t really play anywhere else. You might be able to get a few minutes from KJ at the 4 now and then, but even that might be a stretch.
I’ve already been wondering how they’re going to manage the 5 spot, especially if Ejiofor takes a leap next year. Then you add a guy who’s going to expect close to 35 min/game? [Reply]
If hunter dickinson wants to come to KU, Bill Self will say yes and he will play 30+ minutes a game. The rest will wait their turn or transfer. You dont pass on a player like Hunter Dickinson no matter what you have, already. [Reply]

Doesn't matter. Dickinson will play over any and all of them. He's that good and is the kind of player that plans change for. [Reply]

Correct. He has a lot of Raef Lafrentz in him. And that’s not hyperbole either.
They’re about the same size and have similar numbers and accomplishments. [Reply]
