Yeah, pls. share the menu of some restaurant choices (local 'to you') that are not really chains, but have great food. Novelty places are a plus - you may wanna post menu links and their physical business signs.

I used to feel the same way. The good ones are really, really good. Way more fresh and carefully prepared than the majority of shitty TexMex restaurants.

My favorite part of Jaripeo, apart from the carnitas, is the decor choice to feature optical illusion paintings. There's dozens upon dozens of prints in this place. Two of my favorite prints found on their walls:

we dont have anything like that in spfld except for maybe a tamale king and it looks like a mexican disco from the outside.
Here in GA I'm gonna go with Zesto! Mary Mac's Tea Room, although I guess that's not much of a dive--and you can't go wrong with Taco Cabana :-) late at night. [Reply]
If anyone is in Clinton I would recommend Pizza Glen. It is probably the most popular place. You can get a salad and mini pizza for about $5.50 (depending on toppings).
