Chuck Schumer tonight: Trump’s border wall is “ineffective” and “unnecessary”

Chuck Schumer in 2009: "630 miles of border fence" made our southern border "far more secure" because it "created a significant barrier to illegal immigration" pic.twitter.com/3ywVpKu2LH

In a 2009 video filmed at the 6th Annual Immigration Law and Policy Conference at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Schumer declared that he would support a border fence spanning hundreds of miles at the U.S.-Mexico border for national safety.

He said the fence would be a "significant barrier to illegal immigration," which he called "wrong, plain and simple." He went on to criticize the politically correct terms used to discuss illegal immigrants.

"When we use phrases like 'undocumented workers,' we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose," Schumer said.

He added that people who enter the U.S. without proper credentials are "illegal aliens," and "illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the United States legally."

"Any immigration solution must recognize that we must do as much as we can to gain operational control of our borders as soon as possible," Schumer added.

What needs to be remembered tho: just how far left the Democrat base has gone. First time ever a majority of those scumbags ID as “liberal”. They’ve become impervious to facts and subject to massive hypocrisies now

Who gives a shit? Trump had 2 years to negotiate this thing and he only decided he cared when Ann Coulter tweeted about it. So he takes hostages at the last minute. Fuck that.

All you RWNJs ever do is cheer on Republican obstruction in Congress. And now that the Dems are playing hardball you freak out about it - w/o even a hint of irony or self-awareness. It's hilarious.
