They've weakened him and turned him into a bit of a buffoon. I guess they thought it was the only way to make that character interesting over a series.

He is the most powerful Superhero in the Marvel pantheon, so maybe Feige and company couldn't figure out a better way to use that. It's the same problem Superman has for DC.

They apparently have mistaken the cheese from the Thor comics for Thor being a simpleton/bumbler.

The best thing about Ragnarok was Thor kicking ass, and the actually funny bits/lines.

Love and Thunder had none of that.
