Story by Andrew Gould

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins.

NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first.

After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason.

Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June.

Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy.

Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season.

Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses.

Do we want a high priced prima donna?

Fenton had a year where he was a really good slot corner. CEH had a year where he was terrible enough that he was inactive for the biggest and last game of the year.

I'd take Fenton over Clyde.

Honestly, Fenton had a little Marcus Peters in him as well. Remember the video Mahomes screaming at him "you've been bleeping holding all day! " Then Fenton acting like a clown. I also remember the antics from the DAL game. Fenton was some form of a head case. That's not what we do here.

Dude is trash bro. He has no trade value. Just stop

Trading a draft pick for an average to slightly above average corner is waayyyyyy more likely to happen than trading a draft pick for a below average RB. It's much harder to find decent CBs than it is to find a decent RB. Y'all are delusional acting like Clyde would amount to any type of draft compensation or that he's the missing piece to get a deal done. We're not getting DHop and MEH damn sure isn't the piece that they'd want.

You remember when we traded LDT to the NY Jets for a no name TE and summarily cut the TE? You don’t think other teams do the same? Take a player in a trade that has almost 0 trade value either as a “reclamation” project or just to “take a look” - CEH isn’t the main compensation for the trade. It’s just “filler” - you guys are acting like CEH for DHop is the main compensation. No one is
Saying that.

As a former first round pick, Clyde's salary isn't the same kind of nothing that other JAGS' salaries are, either, though.

I really doubt adding him to any 'trade' is helpful.

I mean, we gave a 3rd for an often injured, underperforming 1st round WR. It’s worked out so far. You never know how much another team might value CEH. I’d say it’s not likely, but you never know.

Ceh is a jag as far as I can see. His rookie year was promising but after the injury he didn't seem the same. Who knows though.
I think he was inactive for the superbowl because he hadn't played in forever and Reid wasn't going to mess with his Pacheco/mckinnon lineup that was working.

No one has really talked about it that I've seen but Dez Bryant works out with Hopkins, made the comment that he could see Hopkins or OBJ here....or even both.

No he was inactive for the super bowl because he needed a extra few days of recovery to get him ready for his fashion show in New York.

While I don't disagree this isn't unprecedented - Kadarius Toney, Baker Mayfield, Mike Hughes, Sony Michael etc

dehop convriremed

The #AZCardinals have agreed to terms with WR Zach Pascal on a two-year deal, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Pascal and new Cards HC Jonathan Gannon were together with the #Colts and #Eagles, so Gannon knows well what Pascal can do as a well-rounded receiver.

Good - they have a new guy in place.

They list of interested parties has dwindled as well. Panthers, Patriots, Falcons, Jets, Cowboys have all gone other routes. That's not to say they couldn't go after DHop too, but it's less likely.
