League sources believe Chiefs' OC Eric Bieniemy will emerge as a head-coaching candidate for USC. Bieniemy is from Southern California and has told confidantes in the past, that USC is one of the only college jobs that might interest him.
Can't fault him on that one, it might be California but unless Andy has given you assurances that he's leaving in the next year or two, I'd take it. Outside of having to limit your water consumption and your house possibly burning down, I can think of worse schools to go to. Shame that no NFL teams are giving him a fair chance given Nagy and Pedersen got gigs. [Reply]

I don’t see this happening. Then again why not? Pete Carroll only had a cup of coffee as a HC before using USC as a springboard to Seattle. USC isn’t what it used to be, however. I think he stays in KC until the right NFL opens up for him. Only week 1. Can’t imagine there won’t be a handful of job openings at the end of the year. [Reply]

I would agree with you with coaching opportunities for Eric.
BUT Pete Carroll had a pretty good run at USC.
Pete Carroll was head coach at USC from 2001 - 2009. (7 PAC 10 titles and 2 national championships. 97 - 19 record)
He was the head coach for the NY Jets for a year. [Reply]
