Why don’t you think it’s gout? Is it on the outer joint at the base of the big toe, red, warm, tender. If so, it’s gout. Colchicine, taken as a bolus dose, the first sign of symptoms knocks it out quickly. Allopurinol is preventative but won’t do a thing once you’ve got it. [Reply]
