Tranquill was easily the defensive leader and tone setter for the Chargers defense.
At 6'2" and 235 lbs, to go along with a 4.57 forty, Tranquill possesses the size and speed to make plays all over the field. He showcased admirable aggressiveness towards the fray, and competent physicality at the point of attack.

Tranquill would play inside linebacker for Wink Martindale’s defense, but he has the movement ability of a weakside linebacker in both base and sub-packages.
The one issue with Tranquill is that despite his high tackle totals, he struggles against the run. He’d have to improve in that area as it was an Achilles heel for the defense in 2022.
Darius Harris’s was the only guy we didn’t tender. He was pretty damn slow. This guy is 235 lbs and is a lot faster. His 3 cone is also below 7 seconds which is damn good.
10 yard split at 1.59 is great too.
Yeah they wanted more speed without losing size. LB’s in this draft are fast but are also small [Reply]
Maybe they're going to make Bolton a true 2 down backer after seeing him struggle in coverage. Only thing I can see right now other than him taking all of Leo's snaps. [Reply]
Our linebackers are fucking nasty. This guy can cover and blitz.

Said to be a cover LB, which I believe was a need. Burrow exposed our LBs lack of quality coverage skills in the first game against the Bengals last year and I am guessing Veach and Andy saw the need. [Reply]
