Really savvy pickup by KC.
He looked quite good in making the conversion to SP in San Diego last season and only got better as the season progressed. San Diego did a lot of spade work to get him stretched out and now the Royals are getting the benefit of it.
And while he's not a 120 pitch guy, his efficiency will get you 6-7 innings at about 100 pitches. And he's not a fireballer so you don't really have to worry about the max-effort stuff burning him up (though pitchers are pitchers; they're still ticking timebombs).
2/$15 million is gonna be a steal for him when it's all said and done. I mean hell, you can get that much value from him with about 4 good months of pitching over the life of the contract. Guy's nearly half paid-off already... [Reply]

I'd say you wanna be a little wary about sending him through the top of the Jays order a 3rd time but god almighty those guys have been HORRID this year.
Springer/Vlad Jr and Bichette combined probably have an OPS just barely north of .600. And if you take away the 5 day stretch from Vlad where he had 2 homers and 5 hits, they wouldn't even be scratching .600.
