There's a huge step-off in terms of maturity, decision making, leadership between Mahomes and RW.

2 years of shadowing Smith would be a gift for PMII. And he avoids 1 extra year of risking injury on a measly rookie contract. Teddy Bridgewater would agree with me.
I'm calling BULLSHIT on the Russell Wilson comment. Wisconsin has had a GREAT defense for many, many, many years. It is part of the Wisconsin identity. Great defense and a great running game. Wisconsin was #13 with 19 points allowed per game in 2011.

To compare that with what Texas Tech has been doing is just flat out wrong. Tech's defense was giving up over 40 per game the entirety of Mahomes' career. If you drop that defensive average by even 5 points per game, Tech ends up winning a bunch more games.

Throwing a person's core argument back in their face when they contradict themselves. Most well played sir.

No way to predict the future for any player but only a blind person couldn't see Mahomes has the skill set to be elite. He is an outstanding talent and we are praying he can be the guy we have been waiting for almost 50 years.

This will be exciting.

Look, I am all for Mahomes learning on the bench and in practice as long as he needs, but blaming him for Texas Tech's loses is a pretty big stretch.

The defense ranked #128 in the NCAA FBS. Out of 128 teams.

The fact they won five games is amazing really. And it wasn't Mahomes fault. 10 picks and 41 TD's is a pretty good ratio, especially given his offensive line.

EDIT: I see I was beat to the punch on the terrible defense.

This would be labeled as an excuse for CP, sorry. I mean.. we want to keep it fair and balanced... right? :-)

You know, it really is amazing. Texas Tech was #1 total offense and #128 total defense. Insane.

Wow! I've never heard of such a thing. Could you imagine what that team could have done with just an average defense? Was Dick Vermeil and Carl Peterson running the team? Was Greg Robinson coaching the defense??

Yep.. I wonder how many times that has ever happened in college football. Absolutely nuts.

Certainly makes me understand some his "crazy throws". Alot of the coaching he will be getting this year will be, "You don't have to win every game by yourself anymore.. "

The only way they could have won more games is if they suited up Mahomes at linebacker or cornerback when the defense was on the field.. and that might have made a difference.. :: chuckle ::

such a great point here

what if he gets it, that he doesn't HAVE to do it that way, your defense has your back, get us 24 pts we have a great chance, get us 30 and we got this! we dont need 50-60 just to have a CHANCE!
