Buttker's footwork has been erratic since he came back from his injury. You can have all the leg strength in the world but if your foot work is all messed up you will always either push it or pull it.
And once you get the yips they are hard to get out of your head. [Reply]
He's in his head. I could see it on that missed FG attempt. he's got the yips or whatever. Probably he's still trying to protect his ankle, and it's throwing him off. He'll be okay, but this might end up being his worst statistical year. High ankle sprains just suck regardless of what position you play. [Reply]
Who are the best kickers in the NFL [coming into the] 2022 [season]?
The kicking position is the best it has ever been. We have seen generational talent after generational talent put balls through the uprights in the past few seasons. With the retirements of Adam Vinateri and Stephen Gostkowski, a new crop of kickers has a time to shine in the NFL. Here are the best ones.
1. Justin Tucker - Baltimore Ravens
Tucker has been a monster for the Baltimore Ravens for his entire career. He is a virtual lock for the hall of fame, which is very rare for a placekicker. But that's the type of talent that Tucker possesses. Tucker has an all-time accuracy of 91.1%, which makes him the most accurate kicker in NFL history. He also has made two kicks over 60 yards.
2. Harrison Butker - Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs veteran was originally signed to fill in for the injured Cairo Santos but did so good that he became the franchise kicker for the Chiefs. Butker has hit 90.1% of his kicks making him the 2nd most accurate kicker in NFL history. He has many field goals over 50 yards and is the only kicker to do so multiple times in the same Super Bowl.

This is the mindset that leads to not playing in, or winning, Super Bowls. At some point you need to understand that kickers "get in their own heads", not is the kiss of death for that position.
He's back to not being any more confident in his own ability as we are. [Reply]

sure it is. if you are taking the ball out of Mahomes hands and giving the nod to Butker to kick a 51 yarder, it would seem you expect the guy to make the FG. [Reply]
