Nzoner's Game Room>Melvin Ingram signs with Dolphins
ShowtimeSBMVP 02:33 PM 05-15-2022

Breaking: FA DE Melvin Ingram is signing with the #Dolphins, per source.

The 3x Pro Bowler has 51 career sacks with 74 TFLs and 119 QB hits. Another good move for Chris Grier and the Phins.

So yeah, I think it’s fair to say by May that he’s put himself in a corner.

It’s Quinn or try to win with a POS line at this point. Oh, and if his plan is ‘well maybe my DL coach can just make chicken salad out of chicken shit, that’s a real bad plan.

He didn’t ‘read the room’ as he was letting all these 2nd tier FAs who would absolutely have helped this team sign elsewhere. He simply got out-hustled.

But like I said - always an excuse. I’m sure this was all part of his master plan of taking the DL that was EASILY this teams Achilles heel last year and effectively treading water. 5D ****ing chess, lads…
I think you need to come to terms with the fact that the entire defense minus Jones, the 2 backers, Sneed, Fenton and Ward (now gone) was a giant piece of shit.

Yes the DL was not good. But guess what? The entire secondary was a disaster heading into FA.

Lot of folks are gonna be upset that this isn’t a SB year for us. They’ll probably say we’re wasting a Mahomes year. It’s a reloading year gentlemen. This defense was never gonna be fixed in one offseason.

It’s gonna take 2 to fix this thing. But we’ll be back in 2023 and it’s gonna be fun. We’ll have money for FA and extra draft picks.

Frankly I hope he’s done at this point. Frank Clark was the last move he made when he get backed into a corner. Watching him get prison raped in a long-term deal for Clowney or give up a 2nd rounder for Quinn seems more his speed though.
Clowney hasn't signed a longterm deal since he left the Texans so please get your facts right if you want to spew garbage about Veach.

This defense was competent last year almost exclusively against poor QBs. And the problem wasn’t entirely the pass rush.

I just saw how he attacked the OL last off season and expected the same kind of results with the DL this off season.
Theres a whole new wave of free agency about to hit, and a trade could happen at any time...

I get that you’re upset, but this is just ridiculous/nonsense.

Veach can either trade for Quinn or just acknowledge that he absolutely ****ed this DL up. It’s one of the 5-8 worst lines in football. Just complete garbage.

But at least it makes up for being limited by also being paper thin.

****ing aces work, Brett.
Veach doesn't view this years team as a super bowl one. Let those young guys get snaps potentially develope talent there move forward. What's wrong with that?

When did Veach say that?

I think a better way to put it is that he’s not all-in on this one season. This offseason has been all about setting the Chiefs up for the next 3-5 years, as opposed to the next 1-2. Our competitors are playing the short term game, and we have chosen to play the long term.

The Chiefs might not be SB favorites, or maybe even AFC/AFCW favorites, but they’re still a playoff contender, and if this team is hitting their stride down the stretch, anything can happen.

Is he limited to only improving one position group per off season?

The only part that's nonsense is Clowney signing a LTD. Other than that, how is it nonsense? If we trade for Quinn, we'll have to trade a premium pick to do it.

And I think Clowney is going back to the Browns anyway. He'd be stupid to not go back and be Myles Garretts clean up man.

No, dumbass. He improved CB, S, LB, OT, WR (as a whole), and he made a significant investment at DE in the 1st.

Why would he say that? It's pretty clear there's young talent on this defense but it's also going to take its lumps. We drafted a million young guys in the secondary I'd imagine they all will play except for Williams.

Cool. So why are we listing how he attacked the secondary as a reason why he didn't attack the DL?

And lol @ WR being an improvement.
