On the Rich Eisen show Veach spoke about "not being able to put funds towards a DE if we signed Tyreek to a new deal". He specifically kept talking about getting a DE in free agency and yet right now we still haven't got one? Surely he can't have been talking about Ingram? Makes me wonder if we have a deal in place with someone like Clowney but won't announce it till he's ready for camp? Who knows. But I expect another veteran on the DL other than Ingram to come in for sure. [Reply]
Feels like what we have at DE is what we have and that's it. We will have 12 picks next year and tons of money. It's a transition year to younger players. [Reply]

I think that's quite possible. If that's the case I'm confident the defence can be better, but I think Veach has done a poor job on the DL, especially if it really was the priority he suggested. [Reply]
I think when he went with value in the draft none of the DTs really lined up with his formula and had other guys rated higher because the good DTs were all ready taken. I think he got what he wanted in value players but struck out on getting a DT. I think everyone was clamoring for a DT. Even though i like all the guys we drafted i think he over loaded us with DBs and could have got us a DT.
I still trust him I won't too worry about it till TC or pre season. Would be nice by OTAs. Maybe some of those guys like Clowney don't want to participate in OTAs? So the time frame to sign one would be after OTAs and before TC. In the mean time I hope he strikes a deal with OBJ soon. [Reply]

If they were content with what they have why put a bid in for Ingram in the first place and why did Veach keep mentioning getting a DE in free agency in his last interview with Rich Eisen? [Reply]
