Nzoner's Game Room>Trey Hendrickson wants out of Cincinnati
RunKC 03:32 PM 04-24-2024
It was a good run while it lasted :-)

Bengals three-time Pro-Bowl DE Trey Hendrickson has requested to be traded from Cincinnati, per league source. Hendrickson is due to make $15 million this season, and is looking for more long-term security than Cincinnati has been willing to offer. pic.twitter.com/PDNKTEiKII

It was so cute back when Cincy fans thought they were ascending into the same realm as the Chiefs. Sorry kids, you had your chance. Now it’s us, Houston and Baltimore. In 3 years it’ll be us and 2-3 other rando teams that will fall off. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

He saw that Burrow is not the Joe Cool that he was made out to be. Time to get out of there.

I knew I forgot someone in my post. It was Reid. :-)

I have thought about this comparison several times myself, the similarities are eerie, especially the part where they don't win jack shit. :-)

I knew in the end it would collapse, because it's the Bengals. It was never going to last.

Yeah - he's gonna want a new deal. They absolutely stole the guy the first time and so of course he's gonna look to strike while the iron's hot.

What's tough for the Bengals is that he does have the money to hold out and simply wait until week 9 to accrue his FA season. It's less than ideal, but he could do it. And then there's the ol' "hold-in" strategy that nobody's really had the balls to try yet, but Operation Shut Down could be on the table.

And for the Bengals - guy's gonna be 31 next season (and he's technically under contract next year as well). You may not really WANT to be extending him.

The best case scenario for Cincy here is probably something similar to what the Chiefs did with Jones - find a way to get him some incentives in that deal that are reasonably likely to pay out if he plays well again. That'll get him on the field and playing hard. And if it works, gets him paid to the level he feels his performance warrants.

But man - sure sucks y'all won precisely fuck-all when you had cheap Burrow, Higgins, Chase and Hendrickson, don't it?

Probably should've been successful and THEN mouthy...
Definitely should've won that SB against the Rams and had a great shot at beating us 2 years ago if it wasn't for Burrowhead and their Jabroni Mayor.

Oh well. Tough luck.

As much as that would suck and as much as I would really like to see Mahomes spend his entire career in KC...

When he gets closer to the end of his career, going all in and mortgaging the future to try win another SB or two makes sense. But then if he keeps playing longer than expected and KC obviously has to rebuild... especially if KC could get some draft picks like Rodgers going to the Jets.

It won't happen again.

We lost virtually our entire starting OL to injury by the time we made it to the SB. Just rotten luck, honestly. And in the ensuing offseason, the entire OL was remade, plugging in holes in LT and RT as needed over the years with great success.

Veach and Reid know what they're doing. Let em cook.

Nah.

I'd overpay to keep him a Chief for life. I don't care about the suckage we'd have to deal with because of it. Maybe I'm just weird or sentimental, but I think there's value in players staying with one team/city for their entire career. Especially when that player might be the greatest of all time.

That dude has gotten into the heads of punters, for ****'s sake. WRs grip the ball too tight knowing how important every 1st down is and then spend entire off-seasons getting into their own heads. OL jump from their stances because they know one punt may be one too many if there's anything on the line (but only after they poke the bear in the week before the game because they don't ever ****ing learn).

Defenders have night terrors.

Brady might be - might be - the only guy I've ever seen that has so thoroughly brain-wormed vast swaths of the NFL like Mahomes has. He's ****ed up GMs for cryin' out loud. Owners have signed off on 9 figure abomination contracts all in the hopes they can beat the guy ONCE. I still think they changed the damn rules hoping to slow him down and all he did was use them to win. Again.

I'm not sure merely stepping on QB skulls even comes close to the impact that guy has had on this league.
Which rule do you think they changed to slow him down?

I think they targeted the stupid neutral zone shit exclusively because his OT was being attacked. I think the OT rules change for the playoffs was as a result of our win over Buffalo.

Same shit hurts him - no change. The absolute instant he benefits from it they change the rule.

And if the Chiefs keep winning, they'll keep at it.

I'm glad to see things seem to be coming apart for these guys because honestly, they've always made me a little nervous. For whatever reason they seem to match-up well against us.
