What would you prefer; trade up or trade down? The first mock has us trading up in both the 1st and the 2nd.

Trade up mock:

1st round - Amarius Mims: chiefs trade 32, 95 and next years 3rd rounder to the Cowboys to move up to 24 to select a massive LT. Cowboys would rather spend the 32nd pick on a guard to replace Tyler Smith with his move to LT.

2nd round - Keon Coleman: Chiefs trade 64, 131 and next years 3rd rounder to the eagles for the 50th pick. Coleman provides some size opposite Hollywood Brown and he is dynamic with the ball in his hands in space. He returned punts at 6’3” and 213 lbs. He has great change of direction ability at that size and strong hands with tape that’s full of high light reel catches. If he can learn the nuisances of route running with his size, he might be able to take some Kelce’s targets in the red zone.

5th round, 159 - Jordan Jefferson DT LSU, athletic 313 lbs DT, high upside but developmental DT prospect.

5th round, 173 - Deantre Prince CB Ole Miss 6’ 183 lbs. 4.38 40. Quick footed CB that’s better suited for man coverage.

7th round - Nick Gargiulo C/G South Carolina 6’5” 33 7/8” arms 318 lbs. Yale starter that transferred to USC. Athletic with a 32” vertical. Smart and ascending player.

Trade down mock:

Chiefs trade 32 to the packers for pick 41 and 91 to pick up a CB bc they selected an OL with their first pick and need to address the secondary. Packers can afford to move up because they have 12 picks in the draft.

2nd round: 41, Kingsley Suamataia LT BYU. Kingsley is our LT of the future with athleticism, arm length and frame for the position.

2nd round: 64, Xavier Legette WR USC. Legette is the best remaining WR with the 64th pick. Legette’s ability to use athleticism in crossers and simple routes helps replace Rice with a likely suspension. This pick trusts that Andy can use Legette’s strong hands and athletic ability to maximize his potential and make him productive.

3rd round: 91, Michael Hall Jr DT OSU. Hall’s athletic ability reminds me of Chris Jones.

3rd round: 95, T’Vondre Sweat DT Texas. Sweat drops about a round a half with his DWI but if he can mature and control his weight, Sweat could be a difference maker next to Chris Jones.

4th round: 131, Jarrian Jones CB FSU. Fast and talented CB that hopefully continues the chiefs trend of nabbing successful DBs later in the draft.

5th round: 159, Trevor Keegan G Michigan. Tough and experienced guard that provides depth and maybe a starter next year depending on who we resign on the IOL.

5th round: 173, Anthony Gould WR Oregon State. Small speedster with the ability to return punts. Gould could have an immediate impact.

7th round: 221, Delmar Glaze OL Maryland. I’m not sure Delmar makes it to the 7th but if he does, he’s an athletic lineman that could play multiple positions on the oline.

Your basically getting a project tackle and project wide receiver in the first two either way. So IDGAF.

Based on last year's draft it seems like the Chiefs have trouble trading up. I'll bet the Cowboys want more in exchange for that deal.

For the trade up scenario...did you trade next year's third rounder twice?

Correct. I could have been more clear.

I didn’t go with a RB bc I like keontay Ingram and felt like he had as much upside as anyone in the later rounds of the draft. Ingram has size and speed and flashed occasionally for the cards. He’s been in the system now for a while and should know the playbook better, so I skipped rb and focused on the trenches.

I also didn’t pick a te bc we are committed to Noah gray with his contract and signed irv smith so, that’s 3 TEs that we are committed to.
