Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs Offseason Planet Evaluation: Allen Bailey

The penultimate Chief in our evaluation process is the gigantic Allen Bailey. What do you think of Allen's labors on the line this year?

Allen played in 14 games this year, making 13 starts. He recorded 21 tackles and 17 assists, and added 2.0 sacks. He had 0 fumbles forced, fumbles recovered, or passes defensed.

I keep wanting Allen to become a star, but it's not happening. Maybe I need to lower my expectations.

In fairness, I think his use limits his ability to make plays. He's often in 2-DL fronts, and you're not going to make a lot of plays when you're outnumbered 5 to 2 on every play. I contend that Allen is a solid player whose role is to sacrifice himself so that others can make plays.

Woefully under produced for what he's being paid.

I bet he intimidates the other team when he gets off the bus, though. That's worth something.

True that, he IS an imposing looking sumbitch

He isnt our biggest problem right now, I'd rather make room for someone else by ditching Nunez-Roches

I could never quite understand how Bleacherreport, which I know is laughed about a lot, ranked him 13th best 3-4 D-end last season: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...he-2017-season

Is there something we didn't see.

I don't think he's terrible but you would like better.

We were much less pleased with Allen than I would have expected. But the numbers don't lie.

1.86 Grade (4.0 point scale)
-1.20 Performance Relative to Expectations (+ = Positive Surprise, - = Negative Surprise)
-1.10 Desired Future Role (+ is larger role, - is smaller role)
-0.70 Ascending/Descending (+ is ascending, - is descending)
5.30 Trade Value (Round, also, zero = 2 1st rounders, negative = wouldn't trade)
