Well if Mahomes doesn't have a pass batted to a wide open Kelce on the first drive, Kelce doesn't fumble in the 4th, Butker doesn't miss a field goal, etc.
The Bengals got a little lucky too.
The 3rd and 4 Chase conversion, 3rd and 11 Higgins conversion, and that 3rd down shoe string sack on Mahomes also come to mind. You run those plays back a hundred times each and they probably come out 50/50. [Reply]

Because getting the 4 yards at midfield with our QB who just injured his ankle the play before was a higher % than 1 of the leagues best kickers making the kick [Reply]

Even if you make the FG, there's a strong chance the Bengals drive the field to setup a game-winning FG. Chiefs defense struggled all day, especially outside the Red Zone. [Reply]

Would you rather make them go 80 yards or 50 with a lead? [Reply]

Chiefs were losing at the time of the FG attempt, so at best it's a tie ballgame if Butker makes the kick. Bengals very likely drive into FG range in this scenario. [Reply]

I'm aware we were down 3 and the FG ties it. You are speaking in absolutes here. What's funny is the OP is supposedly a big analytics guy and analytics tells you kick the field goal there. [Reply]
