The Packers are aware of his feelings, concerned about them and have had team president Mark Murphy, general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur each fly out on separate trips to meet with Rodgers at various points this offseason, sources told ESPN.

"As we've stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond," Gutekunst told ESPN. "Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team."

Rodgers has not budged this offseason, but neither have the Packers, who have made it known they are not interested in trading Rodgers anywhere.

The San Francisco 49ers called the Packers on Wednesday night, a source told ESPN, and the Los Angeles Rams inquired about Rodgers in January before they traded for Matthew Stafford.

The Packers quickly dismissed the Rams' overtures, the source said.

The Packers have offered to extend Rodgers' contract, sources told ESPN.

Rodgers is unhappy for a variety of reasons, with some of it dating back to last year's draft when the Packers didn't inform him before trading up to draft a quarterback with their first-round pick. Some took this as a sign that his days in Green Bay could he numbered.

He also is at a different point in his personal life, having recently gotten engaged to actress Shailene Woodley. Rodgers also has hosted "Jeopardy!" and said it would be a dream to become the full-time host. He could play football and host Jeopardy! together.

Rodgers has made cryptic comments about his future in Green Bay, but he has told others that he does not want to return.

On draft night, the Packers' biggest issue isn't who they land, but whether they can keep the former NFL MVP.

Rodgers' contract contained a $6.8 million roster bonus due in March. It could have been converted into a signing bonus that would have freed up more than $4.5 million in salary-cap space for this season but instead it "vested as scheduled," a source told ESPN at the time. It's listed as an automatic conversion in Rodgers' contract but even that has to be signed off on by both parties. It's not known if the Packers tried to convert and Rodgers refused to sign off on it, or if they did not attempt a conversion.

Bottom of the first round draft picks aren't really worth all that much, and it's not like Denver has any glaring needs they'll have to fill over the next two or three years.

What would the Packers rather have, a retired Aaron Rodgers or three first round picks + KJ Hamler and Michael Ojemudia? Rodgers can dictate where he wants to go, because nobody is going to give up a haul for a player who isn't going to report. Also, there aren't really any QB needy teams in the AFC who have the cap space ready to go for Rodgers, and the Packers don't have the cap space to fit an expensive QB coming back in the deal after eating Rodgers' dead money. The Broncos are the perfect spot.

Also, Rodgers is not choosing retirement over a new contract and security in GB :-)

At this point the best play for the Packers is to offer him what he wants financially and if he doesn’t show up, call his bluff. Force him to sit out.

Whatever team get Rodgers will have late draft picks. A team that wants Rodgers will have a mid 1st at worst next Spring+ cost controlled quality players to offer if they trade him next offseason.

It also makes sense to keep him bc there is no leverage right now. Next March they could tak to Miami and Philly who have multiple 1st rd draft picks from bad/avg teams and good cost controlled players to offer.

Denver would lose out on that bidding war

The Packers just drafted Amari Rodgers who would play the same role as KJ Hamler. I doubt they have any interest in him.

Green Bay is projected to be $29M over the cap next year and Devonte Adams is going to be a free agent. GB had their cap setup to let Rodgers go after the 2021 season. Rodgers knows that their cap situation is not in a place that will allow him to compete for Super Bowls for the rest of his career.

Denver has the space and is setup to compete for however long he wants to play. Denver is the 2020 Bucs and the Packers are the 2020 Saints and Rodgers knows it.

Yeah. If it a cap hit either way.

Green bay is the type to piss him off and keep him and then franchise him. Then no other teams benefit either.

Denver doesn't have enough to offer with what they would lose in players/draft picks. Then still be only the 2nd team in the division.

Keep telling yourself that, right up until the minute he stays in GB. More like Denver is in the perfect spot to get played, so Rodgers can get what he wants from GB.

They'll definitely ask for Jerry Jeudy but I think Denver would rather add more picks/players to the deal than trade Jeudy.

The Chiefs are going with Hill and Hardman and the Colts have had T.Y. and Parris Campbell. Green Bay can make it work.

:-) Just STOP!

You're just as delusional now as you were about Mahomes being a reach / bust. How's that working out?

Just like with Trey Lance, you will disappear again soon after getting your hopes up only to be disappointed in the end. This time it will be for the entire season.

Rodgers is expected to count as $37M against the cap this season.

The Broncos have $15M in cap space.

Rodgers would count for $14.7M against the Broncos' cap in 2021 because the Packers have already paid his roster bonus and are on the hook for his prorated signing bonus.

Which is why:

1. They aren’t trading him.

2. They aren’t doing it for a couple late 1st round picks and your trash if they did.
