Patteeu Memorial Political Forum>Vaccine passports????
petegz28 08:09 AM 03-30-2021
Seem rather ridiculous and I cannot see how it's legal. We have people who do take vaccines on the basis of their religion. Is that now not a thing?

I'm pretty meh on the level of threat of a COVID vaccine passport. However, HIPPA laws pretty much preclude requiring such a thing, right? Though as I type that, I remembered our kids have to prove vaccinations to attend school. So we pretty much already have vaccine passports of a sort.

Remember back when you needed a driver's license to rent VHS tapes from Blockbuster? Those were scary times.

Remember when you had to show health records to buy a loaf of bread?

The argument is that with a system like this in place, do you really believe it wont extend past the covid19 vaccine?

How many shots till you cross the line? Remember the HPV Vaccine they gave girls a while back?

Congrats for pointing out it was tougher to rent a PG-13 movie in 1996 than it was to cast a vote for the man with a finger on the nuke button.

Sorry, what medical side effects does a Driver's License give you again???

Got anything else stupid to say?

Then again, I am sure you are all 100% in on voter ID, right?

Don't conflate Voter ID and willfully handing your medical information out.

Yes this violates HIPAA 100%. No business can force you to disclose medical records to enter their facility or it would be considered discrimination.

And while digital identities show great promise towards improving the livelihoods of millions, they are also used by authoritarian governments to profile and police citizen behavior, like how the Chinese Communist Party’s enforces its social credit system.

According to Privacy International, “The social risks of immunity passports are great: it serves as a route to discrimination and exclusion, particularly if the powers to view these passports falls on people’s employers, or the police.”

It doesn’t matter if they say it’s for the greater good, no society can truly be free when its citizens are denied the most basic of human rights

I don’t agree with mandatory or coercive rollouts of COVID vaccine passports because I believe in the individual’s right to choose what to put in their body and that nobody should be denied their rights for choosing to abstain.

Furthermore, the notion of COVID vaccine passports being used as stepping stones towards enacting digital identity schemes that run the risk of enabling social credit systems like the one used in Communist China is most alarming to me.

I understand that many people are in favor of vaccine passports, and therefore the vaccines themselves, and I believe that they believe it’s for the greater good.

I can’t argue against that, and I applaud their conviction.

They made their informed choice, and my argument is that they should extend the same courtesy and allow others to make theirs.

Because once we begin to surrender our fundamental freedoms, there’s no guarantee we’ll ever get them back.

There will always be a new crisis ripe for exploitation.

It doesn’t matter if they say their technocratic solution is for the greater good, no society can truly be free when its citizens are denied the most basic of human rights.

Nope. These are going to be more widespread, to the point of denying one the right to live their life.

Those school vaccinations are not the same thing, are state mandated—not federal and it's only one area. Besides Flu-type vaccines are only encouraged. One can attend a private school and each state has exemptions to them either philosophical or religious and in some states both. They have to allow students to attend if they fall under such an exemption. If religious ones are denied there will be suits as it violates the Constitution.

Note: There is a court case, which also allows one to state a religious exemption if the person only believes in a specific tenet of say Jehovah Witness or Christian Science faiths. I know people who have used it.

again this violates HIPAA and the ADA, it is not something that can be enforced. And if a business does, they are liable to be sued. Lets use the argument that people know.

Pre-Drug screening, should a company be able to not let you come on their property if you test positive for illegal substances? The answer is clearly no..

HIPAA/ADA

Come at me if you have questions, this will not be a thing for long because it violates both laws, and puts un-needed liability on the companies who try to enforce it.

You keep repeating those pieces of paper as if they have the power of law.

They don't.

Turns out to be true—Covid is being used to fundamentally transform America into a totalitarian socialist state. And some Republicans and Trump voters are fine with it; or won't stand for liberty or are apathetic. :-)

Freedom requires a constant alertness and willingness to fight. The wheat is being separated from the chaff with this issue.
