That was one thing that kind of bugged me. In the book the Damphair would "revive" them after they drown. It was essentially CPR, but given the times there was a mysticism attached to the ability to bring a drowned man back. That is what made the Damphair so highly regarded as a priest: he never failed to resuscitate a person he drowned, i.e. he was skilled at CPR.

They're so damn ancillary to anything. They haven't really mattered in the entirety of Westeros. Yara (or Asha or whatever the !@#$ her name is) actually hit the nail on the head - Westeros doesn't give a rip about them except for when they happen to briefly appear, steal things and then go back home.
What purpose could they possibly serve? Obviously Euron isn't gonna pull this off. And I'm not sure how they could be all that handy against a zombie apocalypse. This whole storyline coming back into the series seems like little more than an attempt to continue the Theon Greyjoy character rehabilitation tour.
They should've just flayed Theon awhile ago and had the iron islands shrug and move along.
The only reason the ironborn (the fucking worst and dumbest group in the story) are even remotely worth reading is because of Euron and his possible connection to Bloodraven, IMO.
That shit and the dragon horn got cut from the show, so I'm really finding it hard to give a fuck about the group of poor pirates. [Reply]
