Patteeu Memorial Political Forum>Cheney Declares War on Trump Moments After Her Ouster

After House Republicans voted to remove Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) as chair of the conference, the lawmaker pledged to ensure Donald Trump would never get “near the Oval Office” again.

“Going forward, the nation needs a strong Republican Party,” she said at a defiant presser after the vote. “The nation needs a party that is based upon fundamental principles of conservatism and I am committed and dedicated to ensuring that that’s how this party goes forward and I plan to lead the fight to do that.”

A reporter then noted that Trump may end up back in the White House in 2024, asking Cheney if she was prepared to prevent that.

“I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the Oval Office. We have seen the danger that he continues to provoke with his language,” Cheney said. “We have seen his lack of commitment and dedication to the Constitution. And I think it is very important that we make sure whomever we elect is somebody who will be faithful to the Constitution.”

The representative condemned Trump and stressed her dedication to conservative values in remarks to her Republican colleagues moments before they voted to oust her.

“We cannot let the former president drag us backward and make us complicit in his efforts to unravel our democracy,” she said. “Down that path lies our destruction, and potentially the destruction of our country.”

“I will be leading the fight to restore our party and our nation to conservative principles, to defeating socialism, to defending our republic, to making the GOP worthy again of being the party of Lincoln.”

The left, and the NeverTrumpers apparently don't know that the courts have ruled the CDC can't prevent evictions, so Trump's still living in all their heads.

Is there some sort of drawback to that or is being called that just symbolic? I would think being an American citizen would render that irrelevant from any official standpoint.

The drawback for me is still being considered a subject. As an American, I find that to be highly objectionable. And I was basically told too bad and to fuck off. The funny part is that I could apply for and get a UK passport if I wanted one, because I'm still a subject of the crown. And apparently so could my kids.

What a load of rubbish!

Liz Cheney is no different than Pelosi who mouths support for the Constitution despite that she doesn't always.

Cheney tried to override Trump's removal of troops from Afghanistan as if she's the CIC. Congress may get to declare war or pass a resolution for one, but she doesn't have any authority to move troops around. That is the function of the president. As Gaetz said, she's for invading everywhere.

Trump's term was largely Constitutional compared to Obama, Biden or Bush/Cheney. And of course Liz mouths the BIG LIE that what Trump did on Jan 6th was unConstitutional, when it clearly was not—it was acting within the Constitution using the features pertaining to electors.

Meanwhile, 120 retired generals and admirals have written a letter warning America may not survive the Biden administration's assaults on our Constitution and criticizing the election's illegal and unConstitutional processes used and casting doubts on its results.

You may want to keep that in your back pocket in case American turns into the cult of trump. An unlikely outcome but one worth considering since the consequences would be so dire.

I suggest you read the 12th Amendment and pay particular attention to the bolded part:

The Electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;-The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;

Trump wanted Pence to NOT carry out that duty, in defiance and counter to the Constitution. That's why Pence told Trump to go fuck himself, and carried out his constitutional duty.

Interesting. Does seem strange that you are still considered a subject and could get a UK passport in spite of the fact you essentially gave up you allegiance to the UK.

The exact words from the smarmy, inbred, upper class prick who took my call at the consulate were: "Hahahaha... Sir, you are a subject of Her Majesty at HER discretion, NOT yours..."
