Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs signing Melvin Gordon
Dante84 03:17 PM 11-28-2022

Two-time Pro Bowl RB Melvin Gordon is expected to sign with the #Chiefs practice squad, per source.

Released by Denver last week, Gordon should be active soon. Another weapon for the stretch run. pic.twitter.com/LBZ7cK2utG

The guy rushed for over 900yds and 4.5ypc each of the last two seasons. Over 1000 all-purpose yards.

Our RB room is dangerously thin. If McKinnon goes down, who is replacing that role on the team?

The fumbling stuff is absolutely frightening, but you can see why the Chiefs went in this direction as the guy fits what they need now. And he’s the best option out there in that mold.

Hot Take Alert, Hot Take Alert, Hot Take Alert:

Gordon is immediately the best RB in our RB room and he carried the ball loosely in order to get helicopter-lifted off the RMS Titanic, otherwise known as the Denver Broncos before it sank and he drowned in the N. Atlantic.

I think you could make the argument he's the best RB on the team.

Definitely the one guy on the team that has been consistently good, despite the fumbles. They guy scores quite a few TD's to be honest.

Yeah, probably not. And I guess you said still relatively young. Moon wasn't young (40). But I just recall how he seemed to decline very quickly in his last year or two in the league. And it just happened to be with the Chiefs. He lost to the 1-15 Chargers that season. Ugghh. :-)

And before anyone tries to dunk on me - I'm fully aware that helicopters didn't exist when the Titanic sank. But Melvin Gordon's passion to score touchdowns for the Kansas City Chiefs existed before either of those things.

I might buy that if he didn't already have a long history of fumbling. I understand why they signed him. Doesn't mean I have to like it. :-)

You don't have to like it. But you do have to accept it. :-)

Meh - Chiefs obviously worried about the Denver game coming up (sarcasm) and signing Gordon to the practice squad to get a better idea to how Denver is preparing for them.

Here is my hope,

Our coaches noticed something about the way he holds the ball, and have confidence they can correct it.....

(Only Spin I can think of)
