Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been named The Pro Football Writers of America NFL Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year.
Mahomes led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game, the No. 1 seed in the AFC and the AFC West Championship. He threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns this season, and has a quarterback rating of 81.6.
After leading the NFL in sacks, Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was named the 2018 Defensive Player of the Year.
