@jbbrisco: .@SorenPetro asked Dayton Moore and JJ Picollo about who will make the final calls on roster moves, etc., and Dayton says he'll be the one who ultimately makes the final call in a tie-breaking situation.

The boomer paradox: they love their cars, but hate traffic and parking

Well I am from the Northland and have no problem with downtown. I worked in various areas in the downtown area for 25 years. Offices right in the city center then Plaza then over right near Crown Center before I transferred over to the energy division of my engineering firm I work for. Not opposed to a downtown baseball stadium at all. But I am familiar with all the problems particularly with the infrastructure in that area. Our firm has done four feasibility studies that I know of for clients who were interested in bringing baseball downtown KC. The old Trinity Lutheran Hosp right by WWII memorial fell through. The Federal Reserve is now in that location. Where the T Mobile arena is now. Conned by the Leiwickies that basketball would be a better place. The 16th and 17th and Broadway locations, Kauffman Performing Arts theater reside there now. And a location near the KCMO city hall and Fed Courthouse.

All these fell through because of the cost of improving the infrastructure in the area scared them off. None of those issues has been fixed that I know of.

You will be the first screaming bloody murder about parking and spending 2 hours trying to exit the downtown loop.
Just ride the street car. They are going to expand the street car and park and ride opportunities will be available.

On parking, the difference is you have 70,000 for a Chiefs game and maybe 15,000 for a Royals game -except for opening day. I could see the Royals building out by the NASCAR track, but I doubt they build it downtown near Sprint Center. Not sure if a big enough plot of available land is downtown anymore.

So is JJ in charge of patrolling the players avoidance of Pornography now, or is that still Dayton's job?

I live the same distance away from Kansas City or St. Louis. I come to a Royals game, I normally just drive up go to game and then get something to eat in Lee's Summit and then go home. I go to a Cardinals game, I get a hotel, go to game, stay in the city do the downtown thing and then go home the next day. Just look at the economic dynamic there. I can't be the only one from out of town that does that.
Parking isn't a problem if they need the property for parking KCMo is a known abuser of Eminent domain. The mafia-owned parking in the area will protest but they are mostly gone now. Most of the properties around the city are owned by realty companies that would surprise many who they are.

It's going to be over bear where the AT&T building is. Theres nothing but parking lots over there and a great view of downtown

There are still options in city center. A forty thousand seating ball field requires about a city block for the stadium. Property for parking can be acquired for multi-level garages. The city hall location is still open I believe.

At a Royals game?

At Chiefs games maybe.

But at Royals games where capacity is nearly 50% less and capacity is rarely reached??? I'm sorry but I'm not buying that.

I was a season ticket holder with the Royals for 37 years. I can count on one hand how many times there was any kind of noticeable delay getting out of the complex.

Goddammit...

Nothing ever changes.

Look Dayton, you did your part. Go focus on other things that isn't on the field product. Let JJ do his job without you meddling in.

Fuck.
