Then why on earth do you leave coaches you clearly feel are incompetent in place and not fire them during the season? Cal Eldred would have been gone years ago. If he was tied to MM that tightly then cut bait and move on. Why let the whole situation perpetuate? [Reply]
I bet fangraphs has difficulty accounting for the unorthodox use of the pen. Probably undershooting the wins by 5-10% but still not great.
I'll hold my judgement till this time next year. If the young pitchers progress and sherm doesn't spend any money next off season, then ya, we are dealing with a chicken shit owner. [Reply]

GMDM’s acolytes would have us believe they still needed more time. The month long crying about how we did GMDM and his guys dirty from national talking heads was baffling. You definitely saw a bunch of company men defending one of their own after that decision. [Reply]

The #Royals have signed Franmil Reyes to a minor league contract with a non-roster invite to spring training, sources tell me and @juanctoribio. Former Guardians slugger who hit 30 homers in 2021 finished last season with the Cubs.
That's an interesting signing. He's only 27 and been an .800 OPS guy pretty much every year up until last year where he did struggle. But he had a pretty good track record before that. Bounceback candidate, imagine he'd mostly be a DH though. [Reply]
