The rollout of this NeW vArIaNt!!!! feels completely stiff and scripted. It feels like a completely poorly written screenplay. I practically expect them to try to rebrand it Covid-21 at any moment now.

They're pushing it because it helps protect you and those you could spread it to.
LA Times is part of the same Times organization and they are lying as usual and relying on the same lying "public health officials." We were told similarly with the first vaccines and that did not pan out because over time the antibodies fade. Boosters are stronger but they also kill. They don't know how long the antibodies last. It's the T-cells that have longer memory since even natural antibodies fade over time too.
It's junk science + fake news. I'll bet I could trace that back to some pharma maker's press release or it's a journalist on a grant from Bill Gates because he's paying them to report accordingly. [Reply]

Uh huh. I got my two shots. I'm good.
I didn't need a booster for anything else in life up to this point, I'm not getting it for a 99.7% survival rate virus. [Reply]
The majority of deaths during the influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 were not caused by the influenza virus acting alone, report researchers from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health. Instead, most victims succumbed to bacterial pneumonia following influenza virus infection. The pneumonia was caused when bacteria that normally inhabit the nose and throat invaded the lungs along a pathway created when the virus destroyed the cells that line the bronchial tubes and lungs.
No, I've been aware that masking was recommended and even mandated during the Spanish Flu for many years, you idiot.
Why did you post that? To look like a moron? That doesn't mention masks at all. And, the immediate cause of death for many COVID-19 deaths is bacterial pneumonia. [Reply]

You're just trying to rationalize your initial judgement that Fauci hasn't lied even though there is strong evidence to suggest that Fauci did indeed lie. You don't know how to apply Bayes Theorem in a practical sense.
Yes, you can keep claiming that. But it's not accurate. I do agree that he was manipulating, however. But again, that can be done without lying, just as Fauci did above. [Reply]

We already know that since several have posted it. You're a day late and a dollar short. Try to keep up. You never have anything new to offer. Well you never have anything to offer anyway come to think of it. [Reply]

I assume you do not seriously believe that.
You're stuck in 2020. They came up with a bunch of pseudo science to sell the peasants and you bought in.
Masks don't work. I'd rather listen to an actual epidemiologist at Oxford rather than fraud Fauci...who also knew masks didn't work before he did a 180. [Reply]

You didn't answer the question.
Do you think Covid-19 flies through the air by itself?
And if you don't, what do you think it's riding that's able to penetrate masks? [Reply]

"little" is pretty subjective...but the studies that I read suggest simple cotton masks only reduce particles by like 25%, whereas
nylon masks with filter inserts can reduce particles by up to 70%. If you do things like tighten the ear loops properly or have a
metal nose bridge, it can be even more.
I do think the way *most* people wear masks probably doesn't do too much, but saying they do nothing is wrong because even
a poorly made & poorly fitted mask with no filter and no nose piece can reduce droplets by like 25-30%.
I don't really care about the semantics of arguing over whether or not its 25% or 40% or whether that is too little etc...or even
getting into things like the volume of droplets versus the exit velocity of the droplets and thus the distance of the droplets....but
masks do something. No they are not great. No I don't think people should wear masks all the time. No they shouldn't wear them
outdoors. But in certain situations with large numbers of people, 25% to 60% reduction is better than 0%. Like travel, subways,
mass transit etc. I rarely wear a mask...but when I do its a mask that fits me well and either has a metal nose bridge that is shaped
, or a 2 layer nylon mask that goes up around my nose properly. I'm pretty confident my simple masks are closer to the 50% mark
than the 25% mark based on the stuff I have read. I also am ok with evaluating my own risk and deciding when I should put a mask
on (like a train, plane, or crowded place with strangers).
Too bad more people can't just use logic and common sense instead of making knee jerk and blanket statements. [Reply]
