The Punisher Netflix Series Begins Filming

That means Netflix has a full slate of projects headed its way from the MCU, but it won’t stop there. The service has new seasons of both Daredevil and Jessica Jones coming soon, and it will also welcome perhaps the grittiest of all the heroes to the neighborhood when The Punisher gets his own solo series.

Given the response from the character’s debut in Daredevil season 2, the series has been on the fast track, going from speculation to confirmation in a remarkably short amount of time. And if a new batch of set photos are any indication, it seems that production on the series has officially gotten underway in New York.

Even if it was the greatest show on Netflix it's over and Disney won't be picking it up on their streaming service. Why bother?...
Yeah I could see that. I'd imagine that it would be a complete reboot if Disney does it.

Disney owns 60% of Hulu...

not surprised it got canceled (40% less viewership for season 2) and it just wasn't all that good imo .

Because the action is fucking great. The story isn't as good as S1, but he definitely smokes some fools.

I had mixed feelings about watching knowing it was probably going to be cancelled. But I don’t regret it. It was so much better than season 1 in terms of the character being the character that we were looking for. And honestly, with the boner inducing final scene you can just chalk it up to being an origin story series. I loved it and will rewatch season 2 of Dare Devil and season of this again when looking for a Punisher fix.

Yeah everyone is going their own way with their own streaming service and wants $8-$10 a month. Choice is going to be shit for a while till the inevitable consolidation of streaming services starts.

Everyone should stick with Netflix even if there are a ton of tempting things to get off of Disney. It would force them to not do stupid shit like this in the future.

Gonna end up spending more than I do for cable. Cause I ain't cutting Netflix, and Prime is getting better content every year, and there's shit I want to see on hulu (including, potentially these shows), and I'll have to watch the star wars shows on Disney+, and on and on.

I'm currently running:
Prime, Netflix, and HBO (through Prime). I also added CBS trial for Super Bowl, but I need to cut it. I imagine it will just auto charge me if I don't.

I've been watching the crap out of the RedBull TV app as well, as my son and I are both into mountain biking and such.

I've currently got Prime, Netflix and DCU (12 months for 5.99 mo + 3 more months are free). I won't drop Netflix...I'll probably get Disney+

Buddy loaned me his HBO now or I'd have that

Yeah. That’s where it’s going to end up.

I’ve currently got:
Netflix - won’t dump it.
Amazon - essentially free. The shit I buy off Prime pays the video
Hulu - i got the Black Friday price. Not sure I’ll keep it after it goes to the regular rate.
HBOGo - my buddy and I are splitting it.

What do you like on HULU? I looked around some and the interface is a pain in the ass and is hard to find anything on.

Some of the stuff on YouTube looks OK too.

I dumped Hulu, but the only reason to have it imo is if you don't have some form of regular TV service, but want to watch the weekly network shows. And they did change the interface like 6 months ago and it is terrible now.

I’ve been with Netflix since I got a month free because I rented DVD’s from them. I stayed as a paid member despite their slim content at the time.

I’ll stay with them this time also as all these big coglomos want take all their content away from everyone and keep it to themselves. And charge us NetFlix money for it.

This is a good point.

I did some reading at work and apparently they don't plan to just ignore the Defenders characters. There's a 2 years holding period where Marvel/Disney can't touch them (but CAN use Punisher since he wasn't in the initial contract) and apparently do want to use the characters after that.

Honestly I think Disney would be better served to just make a 12-18 episode Defenders series and just completely abandon having any solo series with the characters. You can still have individual episodes that focus on Luke/Jones or Luke/Iron Fist but you avoid those 2 or 3 episode low points where they're just trying to stretch out to a set episode number.
