Because they knew they werent going to pay what the dolphins would, but get a comp pick for doing nothing but veach siging his name on a line and faxing it to nflhq? [Reply]
Offer Clowney a 3 year, 40m deal that structures like this.
9 fully guaranteed in his first year with performance bonus of an additional 2m when he gets 10 sacks and 50k per week in workout bonuses. Once he hits 10 sacks, his 2023 salary of 13m is triggered to be fully guaranteed. Same incentives for 2023 are put in place to guarantee his third year salary.
If we sign him, the $$$ has to motivate him. With a structure similar to that, I think he would be a really good signing to pair him with Karlaftis and it would send a message to Frank Clark at the same time. [Reply]

In addition to drafting a defensive end in the first round, what would you have preferred?
What free agent, specifically, would you have signed, with what money, and who else would you have drafted? [Reply]

Scrape some base salary off and throw it into championship bonuses and I’d be good with it. $1mm for AFC championship and $1mm for Super Bowl ring… [Reply]

Ingram, as I said on the thread on his signing with the Dolphins, which I understand is a...polarising opinion. I'd also have drafted Travis Jones instead of Bryan Cook - who I like, but liked less. And finally, I'd have fired Frank Clark into the sun - addition by subtraction. [Reply]

I'd have drafted Nick Bonito instead of Bryan Cook. [Reply]

By eating Clark’s massive cap hit versus restructuring him at a lower number? Financially resigning him made the most sense. And with Jones and Karlaftis now maybe Clark can do something this year. [Reply]

Jones was here all last year. Do you really think Karlaftis will outperform what Ingram did after he got to this team last year when Clark still sucked? [Reply]
