We traded our compensatory third-round pick that we received from Ryan Poles taking the GM job in Chicago. Still, this is a risky trade if he's a cancer in the locker room. [Reply]

He won't be a cancer here with Mahomes and Reid. We're not the Giants in any way shape or form. [Reply]
I actually thought mecole looked really good in much of the role we want toney to play. I don’t know why we don’t just put mecole in on punts and to be our gadget guy. That is likely where he’ll immediately jump in and he doesn’t need a ton of time to learn that. [Reply]

You really think that Toney is going to come in and do anything like that? With all of the guys that are here? lol whatever [Reply]

These guys seem to fair better on Championship caliber teams. [Reply]

Chiefs have a strong veteran locker room we’ll be fine. Oh, and winning and catching balls from Patrick Mahomes cures all. [Reply]

This is a boom or bust deal.
Indeed it is.
As I said to you in April when you said you didn't like the deal: No risk it, no biscuit.
Scared money don't make money.
This is the kind of deal that could pay ENORMOUS dividends. I don't think some recognize just how electric this kid is. Probably the best player in space in that entire draft class. And he can fucking fly.
And if it doesn't work out - okay, you lost a 3rd. {shrug} We had a spare one. And an extra 4th. Those have value but not immeasurably so. Your best case scenario with most 3rd round picks is a flyer at a position of importance (like, y'know, Kadarius Toney) or a more reliable pick at a position of LESS importance.
Well right now we have most of the second tier positions locked down pretty well for the foreseeable future. So in all probability, we'd be gambling on boom/bust guys with that pick anyway. And very possibly a WR at that.

Toney can do everything Mecole can do and more and he'll be much cheaper over the next 2-3 years. [Reply]
