Nzoner's Game Room>****Official Mizzou Football 2022-2023 Thread****

Here’s the Tigers’ full schedule:

Sept. 1: Louisiana Tech, 7PM W

Sept. 10: at Kansas State, 11:00AM

Sept. 17: Abilene Christian, 11:00AM

Sept. 24: at Auburn, time TBD

Oct. 1: Georgia, time TBD

Oct. 8: at Florida, time TBD

Oct. 15: Bye

Oct. 22: Vanderbilt, time TBD

Oct. 29: at South Carolina, time TBD

Nov. 5: Kentucky, time TBD

Nov. 12: at Tennessee, time TBD

Nov. 19: New Mexico State, time TBD

Nov. 25: Arkansas, 2:30 p.m.

I found the schedule, so I figured that now is as good of a time as any to start a new thread. Coach Drink has done well turning around the mess that Odom left behind. Solid recruiting has our best commit class in years coming in this year. The schedule isn't bad. A bowl game should be a given. I would like to see 9 -10 wins this year, with one of the wins coming against Arkansas. I really don't like losing to Odom.

Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz called it the best recruiting class ever for the Tigers.

Sure enough, Mizzou's current class is ranked No. 11 by ESPN, No. 14 by 247 Sports and No. 17 by Rivals, the highest in program history

I cannot believe the official Mizzou account and Drinkwitz both responded to this…hilarious.

Just ignore it…you’re gonna look even dumber and get dunked on even more NOW if you don’t play KU.

Why?

It’s not up to the Mizzou official Twitter account, Coach Drink, the players or even the fans (as much as we might like to think our opinion matters) where Mizzou ends up for their bowl game. It’s up to 3 groups working cooperatively:

1. Mizzou Administration
2. SEC Conference
3. Bowl committee (for whatever given bowl Mizzou is trying to land with)

All 3 of those consider dates, travel, fan attendance (see ticket sales), conference exposure, what is best for conference overall, etc. There are a lot of factors that go into it.

It’s all about those 3 when it comes to deciding where Mizzou will land ultimately. This narrative out there that Mizzou isn’t going to play Kansas because they’re afraid of them (like, really?) is fucking stupid. Only an idiot would fall for that horseshit.

I’m told Matt Wells has pulled out of the Tulsa Football coaching search.

Arkansas Defensive Coordinator and former Missouri Head Coach Barry Odom appears to be the favorite, based on what I’ve heard.

To suggest that Kansas was afraid of Mizzou basketball then is as dumb as suggesting Mizzou is afraid of playing Kansas football now.
Not to be nitpicky but I think using the term, "butthurt" to describe KU's displeasure at being lied to by the Missouri athletic dept about their commitment to the Big XII is perhaps bordering on disingenuous.

Nah.

Butthurt is a perfect descriptor.

Shit, well maybe they did say they didn't want to play KU, but meant it because the only game we could play them in is the Liberty Bowl or Texas Bowl and I really think they want to be done before X-Mas over anything.

Weird,

You can play a football game in another state and a basketball game the same day and have good crowd at both. I thought that wasn't possible.

I didn't realize K-State had a choice of date for the Big 12 championship game. What a stupid comparison.

I kind of forgot Missouri had an athletic program until they dodged KU.
