Nzoner's Game Room>Brees retired

Just posted a video https://t.co/DWleiiyJHU

— Drew Brees (@drewbrees) March 14, 2021

"After 20 years as a player in the NFL and 15 years as a Saint, it is time I retire from the game of football. Each day, I poured my heart & soul into being your Quarterback. Til the very end, I exhausted myself to give everything I had to the Saints organization, my team, and the great city of New Orleans. We shared some amazing moments together, many of which are emblazoned in our hearts and minds and will forever be a part of us. You have molded me, strengthened me, inspired me, and given me a lifetime of memories. My goal for the last 15 years was striving to give to you everything you had given to me and more.
I am only retiring from playing football, I am not retiring from New Orleans. This is not goodbye, rather a new beginning. Now my real life‘s work begins!"

The Buccaneers ended him. His last pass was an interception by Mike Edwards.

Can’t argue that. To be honest, Drew has been a product of the talent around him since 2019. He is that TMNT meme of Master Splinter walking with a cane and older Ninja Turtles walking by his side (while the image above is of Splinter walking with younger turtles).

When Sean says that they wanted Patrick Mahomes believe him, there is speculation that Drew would have retired last year had Tom Brady not made it known that he would like to fill Drew’s cleats. Drew has had thoughts of retiring for a bit, and the Saints have been looking to find his replacement for just as long. Nobody knows what the future holds for the Saints. Taysom, Jameis, a rookie, Trevor Simien. All we know is a large contingent of Saints fans don’t know football without Drew, and probably weren’t around pre-2005 when we were...lacking. I am looking forward to the future, but it still hurts that we won’t be able to count on #9.

His final couple of seasons weren’t great, but he was our Captain, and we were blessed to have him.

On a personal note, when we had our 4th child she was put into the NICU for several weeks as a preme. We switched off staying with her during those 4.5 weeks. Around week 2 however the hospital had us sign waivers as someone had purchased monitors for all the baby’s in the NICU, and we needed to give our approval of it. The person that bought all of those monitors was none other than Drew and Brittney Brees. That made our life a lot easier as we could monitor her while we were at home, school, or work. It was a major relief for us (and the other families we grew to know) during that stay.

God bless Drew and Brittney Brees.
Thats pretty awesome.

I've hated him since the 98 Alamo Bowl, but I guess stuff like this makes it ok to hate on him a little less.

He's just going to be in the studio, not replacing Cris Collinsworth on the announcing team.

Always liked Brees, but that's one less name in the pity mvp race every year!

I’m hoping that he takes the job of the guy who has been dragging him for the last 5 years (Chris Simms). That dude is hella trash.

I don't think you can build around him so I'm guessing new orleans will be aggressive at qb in the draft.
He will be another Tebow.

Chris Simms has been trashing Brees as long as he (Simms) has had a platform. I am not sure if it has something to do with Simms burning out due to injury, or whatever, but I would love to see Brees push Simms out the door.

All I remember is that he sucked so bad, he got the Chargers the No.1 overall pick in the draft. Then he decided to be good.

IMO Simms tells it like he sees it, and Brees has been limping along for basically the timeline your laying out here. I considered myself a Brees fan, but the last few years ive been of the opinion its time to go drew. Same with big Ben, hes just not the same at this point.
