Andy Reid said he thought that Niang was probably in better shape than he was last year when he first showed up.

It is kinda funny.

So many Chief Fan complained about Reid favoring athletic “finesse” OL.

Now we have some big bad ass dudes, and they’re “too fat”.

Can’t win.

You know who else always had a gut and a smaller lower body?

HOFer Willie Roaf.

Someone with more technical expertise should post a side by side or them.

From what I've seen that is the best comparison on body size and weight distribution.

The bottom line is if he wants to succeed at his new job he will do what the organization asks him to do.

Also, it’s EXPECTED for him to be a little over his optimal weight.

He’s been rehabbing a HIP INJURY. That doesn’t heal by stressing it with the torque of that huge frame.

How long has he even been able to run and work out in ways to lose weight?

Well he had a whole year after being drafted to show up where they wanted him as expected. If the Chiefs aren't worried about I won't either.

They’re not going to give any clues they’re worried, but they have to be. It’s not unfixable, but dude needs a new workout/diet plan to reverse course. Right now this is worst look from a rookie since Ryan Sims.

Everyone talking about his weight being what it should be, like that's the only part that matters. I'm 6'1, 250 lbs. I guess I'm in ideal linebacker shape and I should try out for the Chiefs.

I'm not saying I know he's out of shape. Just that weight means nothing if the dude somehow converted 20 lbs of muscle to fat over the last year.

Somebody tell Andre Smith he'll never have an NFL career as a RT because he was a little on the heavy side in the May before his first NFL training camp

It doesn't matter how much you invest if those investments don't work out on the field. I'm skeptical of Andy Heck's coaching ability. We may have to continue to get linemen who received their initial training somewhere else.

If Heck does his job and these young guys work out, we are set for years. We won't have to invest much in the near future. Heck has plenty of talent to work with this year. If we don't have a Top-5 Oline this year, Heck has failed IMO.
