Hate to say, in another thread about Peaky Blinders, Blacklist thread, both of which are a great series, but I get tired after a few views. Thus I needed a break.
So I surfed Netflix and found "Awakenings". One of the better Robin Williams obscure films. Not a fan of Robert De Niro, but a good flick from 1992.
I watched it a long time ago. Glad I found it again. I like historical films and a feel good or bad story.
Recommended.
What other hidden gems are out there...
We all have our preferences. This is a generic, not niche classic ala Rocky Horror Picture Show nor Monty Pythons stuff nor Casablanca. [Reply]

Anyhow, after I made him watch Rad I remembered this movie and searched far and wide for a way to stream it. Nothing! Couldn't find it anywhere on any service, even to buy/rent. So....I had him watch 3-4 scenes from Youtube like this one just to give him the idea. If you know where to find it, let me know!

We might need a 'no woke movie thread'.
Fantastic movie. It will certainly never be forgotten by me. I think that was the first movie I ever saw that was completely bereft of good guys. The villain was more likeable than the hero. And I was good with that! Great cast, great performances, twists at the end I certainly didn't see coming. And the car chase is still the best I've ever seen in any movie. [Reply]
