Honestly the Chiefs should either trade or cut this guy. If they could get some sort of compensation for him great. If not, hopefully they could release him, buy him out or something free up some cap money.
I don’t know how it all works with money and cap management. I’m definitely not knowledgeable or savvy in that regard but all I know is this dude needs to go.
Chiefs please get rid of him!
I don’t care if he is a good interior passrusher. He sucks at everything else. Can’t stop the run, and he is physically, mentally soft. I can’t tolerate his presence on the field at times. He is lazy and dogs it on lots of plays. There was one play against Derrick Henry last Sunday where he had a shot to tackle him when Henry chose to run between the guard and tackle and Jones didn’t even choose to FIGHT off the block and just like passively reached out and touched Henry and let him run by him.
That’s just totally unacceptable!
Now that was one play and that shouldn’t define the guy but it does speak high volumes of who he is IMO. Playing defense is about attitude and toughness most of the time and Jones doesn’t fit that bill. If he goes, I won’t miss him one bit.
He is not a good building block to rebuilding a good defense. He needs to go ASAP. [Reply]

Thats an incredibly damning stat, quite possibly enough to get me off the fence
I mean, he is a great pass rusher on the interior, though. There is no getting around that.
I just think it's weird that he has not produced a ton in the postseason. I'm not the kind of guy who watches All-22 to diagnose why something did and did not happen, but perhaps in the playoffs other teams are doubling him a bit more..? Could possibly explain why Frank Clark has been so successful notching sacks in the playoffs with us.

Thank you for sharing this information. I didn’t know about this and find it mind boggling. Not one sack no TFL in the playoffs for Mr. Jonesy. Wow!
That further strengthens the argument that he shouldn’t be a cornerstone piece on the __efense. He’s not clutch either.
I like clutch players like Willie McGinest. Wish the Chiefs had one of those.
Well he did have three batted balls in the Super Bowl. We probably don't win that game without at least two of those.. so there's that.
There was one batted ball he had in the 4th quarter that would have gone to a wide open Kittle. That ended up being an insanely clutch play. [Reply]

Nobody bothers to double Clark anymore. Ever.
Titans left him one on one with a 3rd string LT all game long and he didn't do shit. That's cool though, because neither did Jones against the 3rd string LT OR the 2nd string RT. Also, no double teaming there. [Reply]

I'm not inclined to just write this off, thats a very meaningful stat IMO [Reply]

I'm referring to the postseason..
Chris Jones has 0 sacks in 9 postseason games with KC.
Frank Clark has 8 sacks in 6 postseason games with KC.

It's weird, for sure. After 9 games you'd think he'd just luck into a coverage sack or something at least once. [Reply]

Clark has achieved his life goals; NFL, big money, got a ring. He's done. On cruise control.
Frank Clark is such a disappointment. I was hoping he would come here and be our poor man's Ray Lewis. Bring attitude change and keep everyone in line. I think he did the first year but after that he clearly stopped giving a shit at some.point..
I hope Reid benches his overpaid ass but I am sure he won't. [Reply]
