We're talking about two completely different worlds of music, man. :-)
Dude this is the meaning of CRAP! How in the hell can you listen to this shit? Really? To each his own BUT, if i am going to this direction then why not -

While I really liked their debut US album, Thunder in the East, I like Lightening Strikes even better. Akira Takasaki's guitar tones are freaking killer on Lightening Strikes and he wrote some crazy awesome riffs as well.
I think they would have been huge had their lead singer's English had been better, say, like Klaus Meine from Scorpions, but he always had a difficult time with pronunciation and enunciation, along with translating lyrics from Japanese to English. Max Norman worked closely with him to refine his lyrics but they were often silly ("Never change your mind"????!!) to full on gibberish.
GREAT players though. Really, really great players.
I agree with pretty much everything you said. And you're spot on about Lightning Strikes.
Perhaps obscure wasn't the right word but how many people who listened to that genre back then have ever heard of Loudness? To me, they should have been as big as Skid Row, Twisted Sister, etc. But alas, it probably had a lot to do with the singer's enunciation as you said. [Reply]
This band is fucking noise. I actually heard of them back in the 80s or 90s. I have one of their albums that I think I got on the recommendation of someone.
Screaming and playing your guitar as fast as you can does not really meet my definition of music. Where is the fucking melody? I like hard rock, but I just can't do this shit.
The Scorpions were awesome, Dokken, Kings X, etc, etc. They play music. This band just makes my ears hurt. [Reply]
