So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.
That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL
How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?
I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave. [Reply]

From @NFLTotalAccess: The #Chiefs and LT Orlando Brown are not close on a long-term deal with under three days left to do one. If no deal is reached before Friday, I wouldn’t expect Brown for the start of training camp and Week 1 isn’t a certainty, either. pic.twitter.com/XNT6CAwYKF

Also, accidentally thumbed down your post, Showtime.
I think he'll play on the tag. He costs himself a ton of cash and good will if he sits out games. He won't report for camp but I bet he'll be there for week 1. [Reply]
One would think he'd need to be somewhere close to the best LT in the league before he demanded to be paid like it. :-)
He's a good player and hopefully they come to terms, but he's kidding himself if he thinks he's even in the top 3 LTs in the league at this time. Somewhere in the top 10 (4-6ish sounds about right) for sure, but that's all I could say with confidence. [Reply]

Hard to tell if it is posturing or he's serious but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is serious that he thinks he is a top 3 LT which means he should be the highest paid at least briefly when he signs.
Which means:
No contract, he gets tagged.
Or a contract that KC way overpays and/or Brown is disgruntled about being way underpaid...
