Sorry to hear. Want to echo what some others have said - file for unemployment TODAY. It takes time. It may be the thing you least feel like doing right now, but the longer you wait, the longer it will take for that first check to arrive. [Reply]
Change your facebook profile pic to have the gay pride flag in the background and post a status update saying YOU CAN'T KEEP A QUEER DOWN EVEN THO UR TRYING XYZ CORP!!!! [Reply]
Wow. I lost my job today too. Boss came in and said the place is closing. I am not needed anymore. I was handed my check. I worked for this company since April 2012. I didn't expect this. [Reply]
I had a buddy that got fired awhile ago and he already has a new gig, lots of jobs out there right now. My buddy got screwed as well with his firing. He had a company truck and they asked if he could keep it four or five weeks until they could come and get it. Two days after he got fired, he went and parked the Truck in a handicap zone and it got towed the next day. By the time the company showed up to grab the truck, 8 weeks later, the company had to pay a several thousand dollar impound fee. [Reply]

Just a worthless "profession" all around.
Broad adoption of Workday by large corporations is the beginning of the end for a large percentage od HR “professionals”. The canary is dead but most of the mineshaft workers have failed to notice it. [Reply]

It's fucking mind boggling how bad HR is at their job, because they all got fucking hired by HR... you'd think they would be the most passionate, understanding people when it comes to the hiring process.
If anyone ever bitches about an interview process, not hearing back from a company, etc... I just tell them you can't ever judge a company based on HR (unless I guess you're in HR), nor should you completely dismiss a company for shitty HR... they're all fucking shitty. [Reply]
Had a relative recently who lost his well paying job. Said "I'll just take it easy for a while and collect unemployment". He was shocked when I told him unemployment was far short of what he was earning. I wonder how many people in this thread are under the same misconception. [Reply]
