Anyone catch the cameo from Ash? And Sam Raimi had to get him in the face again with goo... lol. I will give this movie a Meh rating. Very forgettable but not the worst MCU movie. I may have to go finish Wanda Vision. I think I watched the first two episodes and just couldn't finish it. [Reply]
Yeah I liked it alot more than I thought I would, was very fun how crazy they went with it, and Sam Raimi's influence is very much apart of it throughout but I feel with the content they went with, it was very well complimented to the movie and script. [Reply]
I'm going have to hate anyone who didn't like this movie or gave it a "meh" rating and maybe even put them on ignore just can't be friends anymore.
Yes the ASH cameo was cool as fuck also
Spoiler!
I did not expect to see Charles Xavier in it but he was pretty cool but that bitch witch was a badass fucking killing whore. Loved the brutal kills that's why i don't see how anyone couldn't like this movie a twist at every turn and I that monster octopus was one of the coolest monsters ever.

The What If series also played into the movie later on. They definitely brought a lot of things from the streaming series into this movie. [Reply]
Disappointed. Had a few good parts and some real Sam Raimi moments, but I was mostly underwhelmed. I wish it was a Dr Strange movie instead of a movie that Dr Strange was in. [Reply]
It was weirder, scarier and had a lot more Wanda than I anticipated.
I enjoyed it, though, and have found myself liking Cumberbatch as Strange.
Spoiler!
To nitpick, one moment of the movie I truly hated was Wong giving up the info on the Darkhold. He had just established that the Scarlett Witch was basically the most powerful entity known to Kamar Taj and is prophesied to rule or destroy the multiverse. They sacrificed hundreds of sorcerers, Kamar Taj itself, and successfully destroyed the Darkhold, only for Wong to tell Wanda where to find the spells after 12 second of her torturing a few sorcerers.
Like, dawg, you just gave her the power to destroy the MULTIVERSE. He endangered trillions upon trillions of lives instead of letting a handful of jamokes die a painful death. What a shitty Sorceror Supreme.
I know they've gotta create some drama but that just seemed like lazy writing.
The real highlight of this one for me was definitely the Illuminati portion. John Krasinski as Reed Richards and bringing in Professor X with the 90s X-Men cartoon theme were just so good, even if they did get murdered pretty unceremoniously.
One thing I will say is that I was hoping for an RDJ Iron Man variant to show up on the Illuminati. He's generally a prominent member and the Ultron bots definitely had me expecting a cameo. I think that would have been more epic than Patrick Stewart or Tobey Maguire reprising their roles.
It was all very fan service-y, which I am totally cool with, but I wonder about the implications on the future of the MCU? They could use these multiverse cameos as one-offs or they could build on them moving forward. Do we see Krasinki as Reed Richards in the 616 MCU or do they cast someone else? I'd have to imagine Patrick Stewart is too old to start another lengthy run but do they try to bring on Mcavoy?
Furthermore, how do they introduce millions of mutants into an already established MCU? The Fantastic 4 should be relatively easy to bring in, but the X-Men and Inhumans will be a different beast entirely.
Loved it. If you haven't seen Wandavision, you'll be lost. Even though it's not required, there are a lot of call backs to the animated What if? series. Oh and spoiler below...
Spoiler!
Elizabeth Olsen recently signed a 7-year extension with Marvel/Disney so she's not going anywhere. Kevin Feige is a man of the people. He gives us fan-service when we need it and when we cast the perfect actor for a role (Krasinski as Reid Richards), he obliges.
Enjoyed it, but would call it pretty average really, 6/10.
Marvel never disappoints on the action and the psychedelic style Dr. Strange action is always a nice, different flavor to the other Marvel varieties.
Where Marvel is very hit and miss for me is the plot, and this one was way more a miss, there are just way too many weak plot points and cliches.
Again, it was a nice mix up to have that horror vibe, just to keep Marvel films a bit fresher, but that doesn't offset the plot downside for me. [Reply]
I will say I thought it badass to have Reed introduced by teleporting into the council..
But did anyone else hate basically everyone in the Illuminati besides Reed and Prof X?
Obviously we already knew Mordo was a douche. I couldn't stand the arrogance from the Captain Marvel variant, Black Bolt and even Agent Carter. I enjoyed seeing Wanda wipe the smirks off of Black Bolt and Captain Marvel's faces especially.

Oh dang i really liked those variances and realize they were butt hurt over Dr. Strange doppelganger they had attitude for a reason and watching the power Wanda had to dismantle the team and brutal slice Captain America Carter in half with the Shield was brutal and one of my favorite kills in the movie and the movie delivered on death by brutality for a PG13 movie. They had reasons to be arrogant and it was in a different multiverse where nothing is what it should seem.
I liked it, but I was expecting to like it more. There is a metric shit ton of shit going on in this movie, and it really is a lot to unpack. Put me in the group that is going to need to see it again to catch all the quick hints and nuances I missed the first time.
Spoiler!
One of the bigger "holy shit" moments of the entire movie was the realization that they really are building up to a Secret Wars mega event. The moment Reed started calling it "universal incursions".....that's right out of the 2015 Secret Wars script. And now that we've established that there are universes in the MCU that have Fantastic Four's, it's just a matter of time until we get Dr. Doom and build up for Secret Wars. And shoutout to Dane is he's lurking on here and reading this. You called that two years ago.

Yeah, I hated them lol
If they had any reason to be arrogant, we definitely didn't see it. They basically let their Strange beat Thanos by cheating then killed him after the fact while he wasn't fighting back.
They had knowledge of the Multiverse and yet didn't care to listen to the warning when a Strange from another universe comes running from Wanda? They know how dangerous Strange is. Even if they assumed this version was weaker than others, it wouldn't be wise to ignore what he's saying. "We'll deal with your little witch" :-)
The members of the Illuminati are generally pretty arrogant so it tracks with the comics, but something about these variants on-screen really rubbed me the wrong way
