2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

The Royals are being too transparent on updating the community when they don't actually have any update. Mellinger's press releases would go better if he just wrote 500 words on how great Bo Jackson was and at the end said we still don't know where the stadium will go. [Reply]
The @Royals have hired Brian Bridges as their scouting director. Bridges was Atlanta’s scouting director from 2015-18, drafting Austin Riley, Kyle Wright, Ian Anderson, AJ Minter, and several prospects traded for big league help
Wonder if this means he's done. He's about 30 K's away from 3000 but he also seems like a guy that couldn't care less about that.
Zack Greinke acknowledged the crowd as he walked off the mound in the fourth inning. Raised his hand, then found his family in the stands to wave to them. #Royals

I'd be shocked if he plays another season and he certainly isn't striking out 30 more this year so I'd agree with your assessment that he doesn't care about that. [Reply]

I'd also be surprised if he comes back. But dammit, I can't help it. My sentimentality wants one more season from the guy.
I'd like to see him come back as a reliever, and perhaps even end things with the Royals on a more positive note with hopefully a much improved club. [Reply]

All of these meaningless wins have given the A's highest chance of the #1 overall pick. Not that it matters, the Royals will pick like 7th or 8th and pick a high school catcher. [Reply]

The bottom 3 teams all have the same odds of winning the lottery. [Reply]

The lottery system in MLB is so damn stupid. But so is Al Bundy.
Looking ahead, it looks like it it could be one of the better drafts with several dynamite players filling out the "top five".
Royals still odds-wise looking at the 2 pick.
Last time we drafted that high, we got BWjr, and he's quickly turning into a stud only four years later.
It's not all Care Bears, roses and rainbows, but it we can draft another potential all-star next Summer, and get our shit together this offseason, as bad as things look now, I could see a significant turnaround next year. [Reply]

Yeah that would be kind of cool. But I'm not sure he wants to go through the grind of another season with a team that surely will be improved, but probably is not a contender for the post season next year. Then again, he knew we were shit when he came back last year, so maybe? [Reply]
