Nzoner's Game Room>Wentz traded to the Colts
staylor26 10:48 AM 02-18-2021

Philadelphia has agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first, league sources tell @mortreport and me.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 18, 2021

The conditional second-rounder in 2022 becomes a first-rounder if Wentz plays 75 percent of the snaps or 70 percent and the team makes the playoffs. https://t.co/quAYwcz7bd

I can't believe the eagles didn't get more out of this. But I actually think this is a great move for them. There's a part of me that also wonders if they brought in a raw coach like sirianni to make an excuse to rebuild. Which they badly need to. And Jalen hurts is probably a great QB for this stage too. He makes it look like they're trying but more than likely he's just not good enough and makes for a good scapegoat.

You’re not getting a shot at a franchise QB drafting so late. Not unless a Patrick Mahomes type talent is available and retards pass on him 9X, which the statistical chance of that happening again would likely be maybe 2%.

This was their best play and it didn’t cost very much
This is basically what it comes down to. They really had no better options.

Even if they drafted a guy at 21, he wouldn’t be ready next year most likely. Plus, they need a left tackle, which is probably where they go at 21 now.

Ballards not going to pay what it takes for Watson and the FA market is trash.

It’s a reasonable chance at success without completely mortgaging the future.

Just don't draft a QB ever while you've got him. Apparently he can't take the stress.

Ben is going to rework his contract so the Steelers have some money to bring in some free agents. He will get another shot next year with the Steelers.

Is it cheating if Ben reduces his contract from 41 to 10 million?

Steelers might as well bring in every vet they can get cheap to go on a run. Watt, AP, etc.

There's no possible way to do that. Only 19 million of that cap hit is actually new money this year. Rest of it is from a restructure and signing bonus.

Wentz is broken. I would be shocked if he stays healthy throughout the season. Guy is the QB version of Sammy Watkins.

This isn't rocket science.
Not long ago there was a QB who was a first rd pick and played well, but missed 3 games in 2016. Then he hurt his leg in 2017 and had to miss the entire season. Then he hurt his shoulder in 2018 and was labeled as a broke dick.

When he got back in 2018 he looked worse then before he got hurt. The team gave up on him and traded him. They decided to pay more dead money for the guy than they received in cap savings bc they wanted him gone.

Then his new team picked him up and he won comeback player of the year, won a playoff game, took his team to the AFCCG and has had 55 TD’s, 13 INT’s and a QB rating over 100 with that new team.

Can you guess who that QB is?

When you find out, tell me if you’d rather have traded a 1st and 3rd rd pick for that type of player or be stuck with old broke down QB’s with no arm left, draft projects that don’t work out or journeymen like Brissett.

Ryan Tannehill never had a back injury.

Steep price to pay for 9-7

Ryan Tannehill isn't going to win you a Super Bowl either.

If the Titans were a movie, they would be As Good As it Gets.

His back injury didn’t appear to hamper him at all this year. He looked normal physically.

As for Tannehill, he had a lingering shoulder injury on his throwing arm. There was plenty concern.
