We are going to need a booster shot or wait til Pfizer releases their pill form by the end of the year which will stop transmission supposedly.
Even the likeliehood of spread is super low though. I don't think it's enough to make a difference really

They weren't trying to analyze deaths. It was about infections and hospitalizations etc. All cause mortality being what it is and such.

You'd have to have a much larger cohort to analyze that. We've got plenty of real world examples to see they do infact lower deaths.

The Delta data in the UK from February to July seems to show vaxxed did better than non-vaxxed in deaths.

That effect disappears for everyone under 50 years old.

It was just interesting to me that given the vaccine (or not) the same amount of deaths occurred...

As in, if you have other issues, the vaccine probably doesn't save you.

The study shows that the vaccine is safe ... it was just interesting to me the side information that went with it..

So it's hard to save someone that isn't actually in danger.

The infection rate is growing faster now than at any other time of the pandemic. The 7-day average daily new infection rate across the US has doubled in the last 10 days. The previous shortest doubling time was more than 15 days.

If the CDC has increased their Delta Ro because of the Ptown cohort, then they are overstating it for the general population. The cohort was 85% male (WaPo and NYT have both failed to mention this). Hello, it was Bear Week. @apoorva_nyc rightly mentions packed bars, etc., but /1 https://t.co/VGYHqPMqQ3

That is some magnifique data from France:

Rate of hospitalisation among unvaccinated people: 132 per million

Rate of hospitalisation among fully-vaccinated people: 16 per million https://t.co/WB7jD9uNee

Going down.

Health department leaders and the hospital ceo withdrew their request from the state for help on making a quick hospital because things were settling down

So hopefully good news
